Google attempted to make loading Web pages faster with its Web Accelerator, a discontinued tool as of 2012. The Google Web Accelerator compresses and prefetches pages through Google's proxy servers on the Internet, but this method causes problems when you attempts to establish an encrypted connection to certain servers. More specifically, you can receive an error 462 for no apparent reason. To avoid this, you must uninstall the Google Web Accelerator software from your computer.
1.
Click the Windows orb in the bottom left corner of your screen and click 'Control Panel' to open the Control Panel.
2.
Click the 'Uninstall a program' link in the Programs section to view a list of all programs installed on your machine.
3.
Locate and highlight Google Web Accelerator in the list of installed programs.
5.
Follow the instructions on your screen to uninstall Google Web Accelerator, completely removing it from your system.
